August 27 set as Marion
County Day at Pasaquan
St. EOM's Pasaquan, Marion County's
world-renowned visionary art site, will again be open for public tours on
Saturday, August 27, 2005, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. E.D.T.
Designated by the Pasaquan Preservation Society Board of
Directors as "Marion County Day at Pasaquan," all residents, past or present,
of Marion County are invited to visit Pasaquan on
August 27 without charge and enjoy a free tour of the site. Pasaquan
Preservation Society volunteers will be on hand to lead guided tours of the
buildings and grounds and to answer any questions regarding the Society's
long-term preservation plan for the site.
In addition, Pasaquan Preservation Society board members
will set up a special opportunity for those who knew Pasaquan's creator, Eddie
Martin, to record any stories they've heard or any memories they may wish to
share that are related to Martin and his life and times in Marion County.
The resulting recorded interviews will be added to the collection of archival
and historical materials at Pasaquan.
Regular admission to Pasaquan is $5.00 per person. Children
under six are admitted free.
