Dear artist friends of Pasaquan:
Saturday, November 4 will be the final open day of the 2006 season at Pasaquan. It's also the date for Buena Vista's Rural America Festival. To show our support for the local community celebration as well as to promote our efforts at preserving Pasaquan, we're inviting artists of all sorts to come to Pasaquan that day to demonstrate/sell their work and to express their support for preserving Pasaquan. There's no entry fee to participate and no percentages will be charged on sales, but on the other hand we can't pay anyone to be there, either.
We're inviting a wide variety of artists to join us - students, amateurs, professionals, eccentrics, well, you get the idea. We're hoping that such a varied conglomeration of sympathetic artists coming together at one time to express their support and concern for Pasaquan will bring some valuable and much needed attention to our preservation efforts.
We'll do an intensive publicity thing during October aimed primarily at folks in Columbus, Atlanta, Athens, Macon, Albany, Americus, Auburn-Opelika and other places that lie within a relatively easy driving distance of Pasaquan.
There'll be some really good traditional musicians on hand that day too (like maybe Precious, Jake, and hopefully several more).
If you are available to join us on November 4, please let me know soon so I can include you in the PR materials I'll prepare and distribute.
We would be really thrilled to have all of yall here with us.
